Amazon Mechanical Turk

Most of us are aware that Amazon.com is an online marketplace where companies and individuals can buy and sell, but did you know that Amazon.com also offers work at home opportunities? And, I'm not talking about those rare telecommuting jobs that most of us are not qualified for. What's nice about working for Mechanical Turk is that you can set your own hours and choose only those tasks that are interesting to you. While this opportunity will likely not make you tons of money, it can be utilized in conjunction with a Multiple Streams of Income strategy.

What is Mechanical Turk?
In short, Mechanical Turk is a platform made up of businesses and developers that offer nominal fees to registered workers who are willing to perform menial tasks.

How Do I Make Money?
Registered users make money by working on "HITs" or, Human Intelligence Tasks. After registering, find an interesting task that you want to work on. Accept the task and follow the instructions to completion, then submit your work. Once the requester approves your work, your fee will be deposited into your Amazon Payments account. Tasks can range from selecting the correct spelling for certain words, choosing an appropriate category for products, translating passages from one language to another, etc.

Earnings Potential
Depending on how complex and time-consuming the project, fees can range from $.10 to $10.00 or more. Earnings can be deposited into a bank account or can be used to purchase an Amazon gift card.
